Q: Who is V2V for?
A: V2V is for any woman who has been a victim of abuse of any kind, including but not limited to domestic violence, and sexual assault.
Q: Is it required to identify where we are on the V2V Journey?
A: No. It’s really NOT mandatory for you to identify where you are in your journey. However, different women need different things based on what their current situation is. For example, a woman who is preparing to leave will have very different challenges from a woman who has left and is trying to rebuild her life. These “identifiers” are so you can easily recognize which roadmap is the best fit for you.
Q: Why is it called a roadmap?
A: Roadmaps typically show you the way from point A to point B. For wherever you are on your journey we’ve created pathways for you to move from victim to victor- even if it’s just symbolically.
Q: What if I’m in an abusive situation now and can’t leave?
A: If you feel safe enough to do so you can benefit from V2V. The “In It” level is for you, you’ll find resources, exercises, and mini challenges that help you get through the day, teach you coping mechanisms, and start prioritizing self care. All of it is on your terms and not once will you receive any judgement for not leaving. It is our position that if you believe you could, you would. Until then, we got you. We will not contact you via email, or phone, and each page is equipped with “Quick Exit” buttons that when clicked will send you to google.com. We encourage you to use a private browser, or clear your history after visiting.
Q: What type of content can we find on a roadmap?
A: Roadmaps include anything from self-paced online courses, worksheets, challenges, pdfs, invitations to webinars or live zoom calls. Each specifically catered to the unique characteristics of each level.
Q: What happens when we finish a road map for our level?
A: If you finish the roadmap AND your level has changed, you are welcome to continue your journey to victor by choosing a new roadmap that reflects your new situation. For example, if you were previously “In It” with no real plans to leave, but decide at some point that you’re ready to leave- you can move to the “Preparing To Leave” (P2L) roadmap and you can stay there for as long as it takes. If you decide not to leave, you can go back to “In It” and if you do leave you can progress to “out and recovering.” Moving through the program is fluid.
Q: What else, besides the educational component does V2V have to offer us?
A: Glad you asked. In addition to the self-paced programs available for enrollment you will have opportunities to attend exclusive retreats (both virtual and in-person), V2V member’s only social calls. Our V2V Foundation will solicit donations in order to better connect you to the resources you need, you can request access to these resources through our private and secure community app. Finally, you can choose to join the V2V Travel club which will take an annual group trip either domestically or internationally as we celebrate our healing progress in our V2V Journeys.
Q: How much does it cost to be in V2V?
A: We want there to be very few barriers to your support and recovery. There is no “fee” to be a part of this organization. Your roadmap will have both free and paid options for you to engage with. We hope that through strategic partnerships and donations we can have enough funds to provide the support and value we need as survivors.
Q: Is the annual trip free?
A: No. But V2V members will pay a reduced rate to go on the trip. That price will cover airport transfer, accommodations, meals, and group activities. Limited scholarships (first come first serve) may be available for V2V members who are at the “Out and Recovering” stop on their V2V journey.
